I still very much enjoy Dean in season 12. Recently, we’ve seen him get into a conflict with Cas and Mary, and in both cases, Dean acted very similarly: he was openly angry and hurt by their actions/decisions, he nevertheless dropped everything to help them when they were in danger, but when it was all done and the danger was over, he again made it clear that while he cares about them, he is still angry or hurt and that he disagrees with what they’ve done.

And that’s awesome.
